We usually use speed dip but now we are going to try the one Kaatz Bros makes.

What kind of trap dye do you use for your traps?

I've heard maple and oak leaves work well. I don't have access to enough of those however so i'm using logwood crystals.

I use logwood dye & wax for land traps. Scrape the wax out of the pan notch & off the dog.

I use Andy Stoe's Speed Dip for water traps. Foot hold & conis. Scrape the dip from pan notch & end of dog & scrape it off where the trigger will hook on conis or tape around jaw before dipping.

This year I'm trying Full Metal Jacket. It says dip twice the first time used & will coat 50 traps. Supposed to work over dye or dip but haven't tried that.
These traps were new, cleaned of oil & dipped twice.

one thing about the full metal jacket is that it is clear so you do not want to use it on your conibears and water traps when new b/c they will stand right out
